Parada cardiorespiratória intra-hospitalar: desafiando a complexidade das comorbidades associadas: revisão de literatura

Resumo

In-hospital cardiorespiratory arrest (CRP) is one of the most severe and complex clinical emergencies, especially in adult patients with multiple comorbidities. This study, conducted as an integrative literature review, aimed to analyze how knowledge of comorbidities contributes to the preventive action of nurses in early identification and effective response to CRP. Nine articles published between 2022 and 2025 were selected highlighting conditions such as heart failure, sepsis, chronic kidney disease, and hypertension as relevant risk factors. The analysis showed that the nurse, being on the front line of hospital care, plays a strategic role in clinical surveillance, using tools such as MEWS and NEWS for continuous monitoring. It is concluded that the nurse's mastery of the prevalent comorbidities, combined with the ability to monitor signs of instability and properly trigger the institutional protocols, are essential tools for the prevention of CRP.
