dc.description.abstract	O presente estudo tem por objetivo principal analisar se o processo de formação acadêmica proporcionado pelo curso de graduação em direito reduz, caso constatado, o populismo penal midiático entre os seus alunos. Para tanto, inicialmente, sem pretender exaurir o tema, será promovida uma revisão bibliográfica sobre o conceito de populismo penal midiático, bem como os seus principais efeitos, analisando-se, sucessivamente, as propostas previstas nas Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais, que estabelecem a obrigatoriedade, por parte das instituições de ensino, de proporcionar uma formação humanística, de encontro ao fenômeno populista. A presente pesquisa, no entanto, foi promovida para além das referências bibliografias pautadas na criminologia midiática, utilizando-se também dados oficiais fornecidos pelo Departamento Penitenciário Nacional, e, em especial, os resultados obtidos por meio da utilização do método survey em listas, aplicado aos alunos pertencentes ao primeiro e último ano do curso, de três instituições de ensino superior distintas do Estado do Espírito Santo. Ao final, comparou-se as respostas dos alunos iniciantes com as dos alunos concluintes, sendo possível estimar, por amostragem, um elevado percentual de concordância com discursos punitivistas incorporados pelo populismo penal midiático, bem como inferir que a formação acadêmica, em geral, não tem promovido a redução dessa média estimada de concordância, acendendo um alerta sobre a crise no ensino jurídico humanista. A partir deste estudo, propõe-se, como produto técnico a ser realizado, um curso de formação continuada, na modalidade de extensão, em uma das três instituições de ensino na qual o questionário foi aplicado, abordando-se, especialmente, aspectos relacionados com a criminologia midiática, com o intuito de expandir os debates e apresentar os resultados desta pesquisa.	pt_BR

dc.description.resumo	The main objective of this study is to analyze whether the process of academic training provided by the undergraduate law course reduces, if found, media penal populism among its students. To this end, initially, without claiming to exhaust the subject, a bibliographical review will be carried out on the concept of media penal populism, as well as its main effects, analyzing, successively, the proposals set out in the National Curriculum Guidelines, which establish the obligation on the part of educational institutions to provide a humanistic education, in opposition to the populist phenomenon. This research, however, went beyond the bibliographical references based on media criminology, also using official data provided by the National Penitentiary Department, and in particular the results obtained through the use of the list survey method, applied to students belonging to the first and last year of the course, from three different higher education institutions in the state of Espírito Santo. At the end of the study, the responses of the first-year students were compared with those of the final-year students, and it was possible to estimate, by sampling, a high percentage of agreement with the punitive discourses incorporated by the media's penal populism, as well as to infer that academic training, in general, has not promoted a reduction in this estimated average of agreement, sparking a warning about the crisis in humanist legal education. Based on this study, a technical product to be carried out is a continuing education course, in the form of an extension, in one of the three educational institutions in which the questionnaire was applied, addressing, in particular, aspects related to media criminology, with the aim of expanding the debates and presenting the results of this research.	pt_BR
