dc.description.abstract	Esta pesquisa analisa em que medida a atuação da Guarda Municipal de Vitória se aproxima ou se afasta das diretrizes do policiamento comunitário, a partir do levantamento e sistematização de dados amostrais de atendimento realizados por esta instituição no ano de 2015. Destaca-se em meio à atual discussão de participação ativa dos municípios brasileiros na segurança pública, através de suas guardas municipais, que constantemente têm adotado o modelo tradicional de policiamento típico das polícias estaduais brasileiras, traduzido por noções de guerra ao crime e combate ao criminoso. Sob o pressuposto de que as Guardas Municipais devem se afastar desses falhos modelos tradicionais de confronto, apresenta-se o modelo de policiamento comunitário, norteado por ideais de proximidade e interação com a população, e voltado à resolução de conflitos e promoção de ambientes seguros. Sob essa perspectiva, a análise dos dados de atuação da Guarda Municipal de Vitória no ano de 2015 revela que os aspectos mais marcantes dos atendimentos se afastam das diretrizes comunitárias e, por conseguinte, se aproximam do modelo tradicional de policiamento repressivo. Por outro lado, existem muitos aspectos que convergem para os ideais prevencionistas e que precisam ser mais explorados, a fim de que a Guarda Municipal assuma de fato o perfil comunitário e abandone a cultura repressiva arraigada pelo modelo dominante.	pt_BR

dc.description.resumo	This research aims at analyzing the extent to which performance the Municipal Guard of Vitória approaches or moves away from the guidelines of community based policing, from the collection and systematization of sample data service performed by this institution in 2015. It stands out amid the current discussion the active participation of Brazilian municipalities in public safety, through its municipal guards which constantly have adopted the traditional model of policing, which is typically performed by Brazilian State police, translated into war notions to tackle crime and fighting criminals. Based on the assumption that the Municipal Guards should be away from these flawed traditional models of crime confrontation, it shows the model of community based policing, guided by ideals of community based approach and interaction with the population and targeted to resolve conflicts and promoting safe environments. Through this perspective, the analysis of performance data from the Municipal Guard of Vitoria in 2015 reveals that the most striking aspects of policing service provided by the Municipal Guard is disconnected from the community based policing guidelines and therefore approaches the traditional model of repressive policing. On the other hand, there are many aspects that converge to the preventing ideals and need to be further explored in order to assume that the Municipal Guard in fact the community profile and abandon the repressive culture rooted in the dominant model.	pt_BR
