dc.description.abstract	Muitos estudos têm verificado que indivíduos expostos a diferentes formas de violência ao longo de seu desenvolvimento apresentam risco aumentado para o surgimento de sintomas ou transtornos psicológicos, como por exemplo: baixa autoestima, baixo senso de autoeficácia, comportamento agressivo, sintomas internalizantes e externalizantes. A violência afeta a saúde individual e coletiva, provoca mortes, lesões, traumas físicos e mentais; diminui a qualidade de vida das pessoas e das comunidades; coloca novos problemas para a gestão pública, para a sociedade civil e instituições privadas, e para os serviços; e evidencia a necessidade de uma atuação de prevenção e tratamento de base interdisciplinar, multiprofissional, intersetorial e socialmente engajada. O presente trabalho objetiva iniciar uma discussão importante a respeito da proteção das crianças e adolescentes no Município de Vila Velha. Objetiva-se analisar a atuação municipal com olhar para o conselho tutelar, no estudo de caso da região administrativa II do município. Serão apresentados no decorrer do trabalho a percepção histórica da criança e da violência através de uma revisão teórica, identificar conceitos e tipos de violência contra a criança e o adolescente de acordo com a classificação da Organização Mundial da Saúde, verificar o surgimento das leis protetivas a nível internacional e nacional, compreender a rede de proteção em âmbito nacional e capixaba, bem como o resultado do grupo focal realizado com os conselheiros da região II. Com o trabalho não se pretende encerrar a discussão, mas sim iniciá-la mostrando à sociedade o importante trabalho realizado, trazendo à luz os acertos e aquilo que pode ser melhorado para efetiva proteção de crianças e adolescentes.	pt_BR

dc.description.resumo	Many studies have found that individuals exposed to different forms of violence throughout their development are at incresed risk for the emergence of psychological symptoms or disorders, such as: low self-esteem, low sense of self-efficacy, aggressive behaviour, internalizing and externalizing symptoms. Violence affects individual and coletive health, causes deaths, injuries, physical and mental trauma; reduces the quality of life of people and communities; poses new problems for public management, for civil society, and private institutions, and for services; and highlights the need for prevention and treatment on na interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, intersectorial and socially engaged bases. This work aims to initiate an important discussion regarding the protection of children and adolescents in the Municipality of Vila Velha. The objective is to analyze municipal performance with a view to the guardianship council, in the case study of administrative region II of the municipality. During the work, the historical perception of children and violence will be presented through a theoretical review, identifying concepts and types of violence against children and adolescents according to the World Health Organization classification, verifying the emergence of protective laws to international and national level, understand the protection network at national and Espírito Santo levels, as well as the results of the focus group carried out with counselors from region II. The work is not intended to end the discussion, but rather to start it by showing society the important work carried out, bringing to light the successes and what can be improved to effectively protect children and adolescents.	pt_BR
