dc.description.abstractIntrodução: O Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) é uma condição neurodesenvolvimental complexa que afeta a comunicação, interação social e comportamento dos indivíduos. Nesse contexto, a enfermagem pode trazer grande contribuição para a qualidade de vida de pacientes com diagnóstico de TEA, de modo a auxiliar não só a criança, como também a assistir sua família. Objetivo: O objetivo desse trabalho é compreender o papel da enfermagem no cuidado a pessoas com TEA e de sua família. Metodologia: O estudo trata-se de revisão integrativa de literatura e buscou estudos completos que abordassem o papel da enfermagem frente ao autista e seus cuidadores, com recorte temporal de 2012 a 2023. Resultados: Evidenciou-se que os enfermeiros podem auxiliar a família e a criança com TEA na fase do diagnóstico, além de outras fases da vida que indivíduo necessite de cuidados de saúde, levantou-se que os profissionais possuem uma noção intermediária sobre o autismo, apresentando limitações quanto ao conhecimento e suas práticas, sendo importante abordar o TEA desde a formação acadêmica até a educação continuada após o início na vida profissional. Conclusão: Verificou-se através do estudo que o enfermeiro possui capacidade de desenvolver estratégias para proporcionar ao paciente com TEA e seus cuidadores uma assistência à saúde integral, em todos os âmbitos. Além disso, salienta-se que suas práticas e intervenções se apresentam eficazes e apresentam melhora para qualidade de vida do indivíduo e de seus cuidadores.pt_BR

dc.description.resumoIntroduction: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental condition that affects communication, social interaction and behavior of individuals. In this context, nursing can make a great contribution to the quality of life of patients diagnosed with ASD, in order to help not only the child, but also assist their family. Objective: the objective of this work is to understand the role of nursing in caring for people with ASD and their families. Methodology: The study is an integrative literature review and sought complete studies that addressed the role of nursing in relation to autistic people and their caregivers, with a time frame from 2012 to 2023. Results: It was evidenced that nurses can help the family and the child with ASD in the diagnosis phase, in addition to other stages of life in which the individual requires health care, it was found that professionals have an intermediate notion about autism, presenting limitations regarding knowledge and practices, and it is important to address the ASD from academic training to continuing education after starting professional life. Conclusion: It was verified through the study that nurses have the ability to develop strategies to provide patients with ASD and their caregivers with comprehensive health care, in all areas. Furthermore, it should be noted that its practices and interventions are effective and improve the quality of life of the individual and their caregivers.pt_BR
