dc.description.abstract	Em fevereiro de 2017, o cidadão capixaba vivenciou as consequências de um movimento atípico em sua rotina. Do dia 04 ao dia 25 do mesmo mês, mulheres e familiares de Policiais Militares, decretaram estado de greve por melhores condições de trabalho e reajustes salariais. Desde o primeiro dia de paralização, a imprensa local destinou-se ao acompanhamento e divulgação dos fatos ocorridos no período. A partir desses conteúdos, este trabalho propôs uma reflexão analítica que desencadeou no seguinte questionamento: De que maneira os jornais A Gazeta e A Tribuna representaram os acontecimentos ocorridos no Estado, durante a greve da PM, em fevereiro de 2017? Ao promover tal reflexão, objetivou-se tecer uma discussão complexa entre jornalismo, enquanto função social, a sociedade enquanto protagonista da realidade e a violência, principal categoria correlacionada às reportagens analisadas, enquanto conceito-chave na cobertura do cenário apresentado pela mídia.	pt_BR

dc.description.resumo	In February 2017, the Capixaba citizen experienced the consequences of an atypical movement in his routine. From the 4th to the 25th of the same month, women and families of Military Police officers decreed a strike state due to better working conditions and salary readjustments. From the first day of paralysis, the local press was used to monitor and publicize the events that occurred in the period. Based on these contents, this work proposed an analytical reflection that led to the following question: How did the newspapers A Gazeta and A Tribuna represent the events occurred in the State during the PM strike in February 2017? In promoting such reflection, it was intended to weave a complex discussion between journalism, as a social function, society as protagonist of reality and violence, the main category correlated to the analyzed articles, as a key concept in the coverage of the scenario presented by the media.	pt_BR
